Light Up The World brings ultra-efficient, durable and long-lasting
LED lighting solutions powered by renewable energy to the world’s poor
in ecologically sensitive and remote rural areas.
Light Up The World (LUTW) is an international humanitarian
organization dedicated to providing renewable energy and innovative
lighting technologies to developing countries. Its goal is to bring
affordable, safe, healthy, efficient and environmentally responsible
illumination to the almost two billion people worldwide who do not
have access to safe, effective and affordable lighting that’s
essential to education and daily living.
Since its inception, through the generous support of individuals,
corporations, foundations, host country organizations, and
international partners, LUTW has facilitated the installation of
17,000 lighting systems that have illuminated more than 200,000 lives
in 51 countries. LUTW projects have brought tangible economic,
social, and environmental gains to communities in need. Affordable,
effective energy and lighting is greatly enhancing health and safety,
fostering local education, helping to develop an economic
infrastructure, and is protecting the environment by reducing harmful
carbon based fuels.
